Dendrochronology indicates the date of construction of this table to be 1250–1280, during the reign of Edward I, who was an Athurian enthusiast. The current paintwork, done by order of Henry VIII, includes the names of the knights of Arthur’s court. The table hangs in Winchester Castle.
