Beloved hearts, in most animals fear is the result of mankind’s own feelings which are, or have been, projected to the animals through the [[mass mind]]. Man’s survival instincts retained from prehistoric times sustain a fierce desire to self-protect. Race memories of past encounters with savage beasts keep alive a record and an automatic reflex whereby man reverts to a defensive posture when sensing the presence of certain wild animals.
