Hierophant

[from Greek hieros, “powerful, supernatural, holy, sacred” + phantes, from phainein, “to bring to light, reveal, show, make known”] In antiquity, an official expounder of sacred mysteries or religious ceremonies, especially in ancient Greece.

Serapis Bey is often spoken of as the hierophant of Luxor.
