Mahatma

The mahatma [from the Sanskrit maha, meaning “great,” and atman, meaning “soul”] is the “Great-souled one”; an individual who, out of his humble communion with the flame of life, has drawn forth and taken as his own identity the great solar awareness of the consciousness of God. His role is to provide a focus or an anchor point upon the planet for the higher mind of God.

Such a one becomes a vehicle through whom the beautiful currents of divine grace may radiate daily into the world of form. Without such dedicated souls in their midst, millions would be deprived of the divine currents that are vital not only to their existence but also to the balance of forces on the planet. These Bodhisattvas are of great assistance to hierarchy in maintaining a vibrational contact upon the planetary body that is stabilizing to the planet.
