Lawsuits

From TSL Encyclopedia

On August 3, 1986, Elizabeth Clare Prophet gave a teaching on Keepers of the Flame filing lawsuits against other Keepers of the Flame, which included the reading of I Corinthians 6:1–11.

Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.

It is rather to go before the least esteemed in the church to adjudicate your differences than to go before the ungodly of the world.

I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?

Of course there is a wise man among us who can judge amongst the brethren far better than the courts of the world.

But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.

In other words, the teaching is it is better to be wronged and to be defrauded than to go to the courts of the world to gain a judgment upon one who is a member of the Church in good standing.

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?

This question is asked by way of a reminder, that if someone has been unrighteous or is the unrighteous, he will not inherit the kingdom of God. You don’t need to worry about recompense or revenge. The Law will reward and will also reward you and return to you what has been unjustly taken from you.

Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

So the assurance is, the Law will take over. Then the reminder,

And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Therefore, you who have been washed by the violet flame and cleansed and forgiven and delivered of many karmas of the past by the Great White Brotherhood, do not then seek to take revenge in court with your brethren. As God has forgiven you, you must extend the violet flame.

On July 6, 1991, the Messenger said:

El Morya told me, “Don’t expect divine justice in the courts of this world.”
