Moses fled Egypt to the land of Midian, where he lived for forty years. The Bible tells us that it was there that “the angel of the L<small>ORD</small> appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: he looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.” The L<small>ORD</small> said, “I have seen the affliction of my people in Egypt, have heard their cry.
