During the long winter at Valley Forge, Micah appeared to George Washington in a vision of three great perils that would come upon the nation of America—the Revolutionary War, the War between the States, and a third world conflict. According to Anthony Sherman’s account of this vision, Washington related that he was shown the inhabitants of America “in battle array against each other. As I continued looking I saw a bright angel, on whose brow rested a crown of light, on which was traced the word ‘Union,’ bearing the American flag which he placed between the divided nation, and said, ‘Remember ye are brethren.’ Instantly, the inhabitants, casting from them their weapons, became friends once more and united around the National Standard.”[1]
