In 1970, at a time of ongoing fighting between Egypt and Israel, Mother Mary called for a perpetual vigil as the requirement of the hour. She asked us to keep the vigil with her to avert war in the Middle East. If war was allowed to continue, it could mean the greatest catastrophe that has ever been seen upon earth.[1] She urged us to be upon our knees daily praying for the angels of peace and the angels of victory to stay the hand of darkness in the Middle East crisis.[2] We can ask Mother Mary to draw a circle around the Middle East and around the laggard evolutions that have embodied there.[3]

  1. This fighting broke out into full-scale war in the Middle East on October 6, 1973, when Egyptian, Syrian, and Iraqi forces launched a surprise attack on Israel, in what is known as the Yom Kippur War. This could easily have escalated into global confrontation with the Soviet Union intervening to support its ally Egypt and the US supporting Israel.
