Hiérarque des armées angéliques ; le rang le plus élevé dans les ordres des anges.

Chacun des sept rayons et le huitième rayon ont un archange président qui, avec son complément divin, un archeia, incarne la conscience de Dieu du rayon et dirige les bandes d'anges servant dans leur commandement sur ce rayon.

Il existe également des archanges et des archées des cinq rayons secrets.
